Born in Canton Ohio, U.S.A., Tara A McMahon has always found nonverbal expression fascinating and preferable. Growing up mainly in Ohio, Arizona and Idaho she finally settled in the Pacific Northwest and followed her artistic tendencies to Cornish College of the Arts where she earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts. She lived in Seattle for 17 years and after a brief stay in Florida, she is currently living and working in Stockholm Sweden. She finds colors, light and the varying textures of nature an influence in her work. Working mainly in oil paint Tara also works in clay, book making, pastel and photography.
